Production Assistant (Film Production)
Full or Part time contract

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly organised, experienced Production Assistant to join our fast-growing team.

The film production team works alongside our broadcast team, operating flypacks, OB trucks and supporting large-sensor cinematic workflows. Vivid also runs a state-of-the-art Remote Production Centre and Studio from our Surrey base.

We are looking for a dependable and proactive Production Assistant with solid experience in a film or TV production environment, keen to immerse themselves in a creative industry and contribute to high-profile productions as part of an exceptionally talented team.

We are open to individuals seeking full time or part time opportunities.

About you 

You thrive in a collaborative team environment and bring strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to take initiative when needed. You are comfortable working with high-profile clients and understand the importance of maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.

You have at least two years’ experience working as a Production Assistant in the film industry. We also welcome those with a significant corporate film or long form TV Production background.) You need to have solid skills in planning, logistics and multitasking, as well as experience with working with big budget projects. You perform well under pressure in fast-paced production environments, and approach challenges with a practical, problem-solving mindset.

Adaptable and proactive, you contribute positively to the delivery of high-profile live productions. An interest and aptitude for social media marketing would be advantageous.

The role

This role offers flexible, variable hours. While part-time arrangements will be considered, long term, this role is expected to be a full-time position.This role will include some irregular hours, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends and sometimes at short notice. Filming locations may take place throughout the UK, and occasionally overseas. When not working on site, this role will be primarily remotely based, with occasional work required at our Woking office. 

Due to the location of our Surrey base, and some filming locations, having a full valid driving licence is highly desirable.

Production Coordinator
Full time - Contract

We are seeking an experienced Outside Broadcast Production Coordinator, to join our Woking based team, full-time.

If you have at least 2 years' experience as a Production Coordinator within the Outside Broadcast sector and are looking to be part of a  team delivering live broadcasts across the most exciting sectors in the broadcast industry, we would love to hear from you. 

As Production Coordinator you will play a central role in planning and coordinating outside broadcasts across major sports contracts, fashion shows, music concerts, to high-profile corporate events with the broadcast team. Here, no two days are the same, and every project is an opportunity to push the boundaries of production excellence with our fleet of OB trucks, dedicated remote units, flypacks, studio and remote production centre. 

Role Overview: 

The Production Coordinator liaises with staff, freelance crew and suppliers to confidently fulfill the planning and logistics needs across multiple projects, focusing on advance planning alongside addressing day-to-day queries to ensure jobs run smoothly. They will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Source, book, create and distribute all job related information to staff and freelancers and clients, including Job Sheets, permits, dispensations, accommodation and travel arrangements.

  • Ensure Job Sheets and information exchange with crew is to a high standard, strengthening working relationships with freelancers, from pre to post project communication.

  • Create purchase orders and handle financial information related to the job, solving issues and queries with crew as they arise.

  • Be involved in tracking budgets across a wide variety of jobs, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standard, within budget and on time. 

  • Work across both the broadcast and production sectors to ensure best use of facilities and capitalise on opportunities that would support each revenue stream.

On occasions, there will be opportunities to work on site, as per project demands.

About you: 

Experience working for a broadcast company is a must. You will need demonstrable experience of producing detailed, concise call sheets and working directly with clients and crew.

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years experience of working as a Production Coordinator in a TV Outside Broadcast or Production environment, with strong knowledge of outside broadcast freelance crew, OB rigs and kit, with a solid understanding of health & safety practices. 

We are located in Mayford, Woking. Due to our rural location, a driving licence is desirable.

The Role

This a full-time office based role, on a 37.5 hr working week.

A working week is based on 5 out of 7 days. This will include some weekends and evenings to cover live shows from our studio and Remote Production Centre.

Professional Year Placement Scheme - Assistant Sound Engineer

We are eager to support and encourage new talent into the industry. Each year, Vivid welcomes a select number of students who are studying Film/TV/Sound/Media, for a Professional Year Placement as part of their Undergraduate degree. This is a brilliant opportunity for students who have a placement pathway at the end of their second year of studies, to experience working across varied and high profile events for one year, as part of the Vivid team. 

Sound and Vision roles are based at our facilities in Mayford, Woking and involve regular travel across the UK, and occasionally, overseas. 

Placements commence in the Summer of 2026 for 12 months. Specific start dates for each placement role depends on job requirements and student availability.

We have placement opportunities for an Assistant Vision Engineer, an Assistant Sound Engineer and Digital Marketing Assistant to join us for 2026 - 2027. 

Assistant Sound Engineer / MSO

Role Overview:

The PYP Assistant Sound Engineer / MSO will work closely with Vivid’s Sound Guarantees and the wider team, to develop their skills, knowledge and experience of working on high profile OB’s. They will have hands-on experience of working on a variety of Outside Broadcasts across the UK, and on occasion world-wide, whether with our flypacks, OB trucks or remote galleries. 

They will be responsible for keeping kit organised and well maintained, assisting with the prepping, testing and supporting sound solutions, based from our facility near Woking in Surrey. The role will involve regular travel throughout the UK and sometimes, overseas.

As a PTP role, it is expected that Vivid will have regular interactions with the University to support the student’s objectives throughout the placement.

Role Responsibilities: 

Some of the role responsibilities include:

  • Help prep, rig and de rig on OB’s, with our trucks, flypacks or within the studio or Remote Production Centre.

  • Assist with the set up and maintenance of Dante networks (as well as working with SDI, AES and MADI).

  • Assist with RF audio solutions

  • Assist with RTS Telex Comms system design, prep and operation.

  • Assist with remedying workflow for intercom systems including IFBs and mix minuses.

  • Help set up, operate, diagnose and solve technical issues on site.

  • Interact with clients, directors and producers in the delivery of productions in a confident and professional manner.

  • Develop effective communication skills within the team to ensure that the client’s needs are met and delivered to a high standard.

  • Proactively action repairs internally or externally with manufactures/service centres.

  • Keep kit organised and well maintained in the warehouse. 

  • Contribute to providing sound solutions that are fresh and innovative. 

  • Sound operate and mix on some OB’s and Flypack solutions.

Role Location:

Assistant Vision Engineer / MSO

Role Overview: 

The PYP Assistant Vision Engineer / MSO, facilitates vision engineering needs across Vivid’s Outside Broadcasts. Working alongside the Vision Guarantee, Head of Engineering, and Unit Managers, they help to provide the best solutions for clients, ensuring high quality broadcast output is maintained, and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of our facilities.  

The Assistant Vision Engineer/MSO will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience of working on projects ranging from online webcasts to major broadcasts and productions on a variety of Outside Broadcasts across the UK, and on occasion world-wide. This could be with our flypacks, OB trucks or at our remote production centre in Woking.

The role will include on site rigging and operation of all types of broadcast and IT equipment. There will also be an opportunity to act as a Multi Skilled Operator on some projects, with a range of vision mixing, graphics operating duties and camera operation.

As a PTP role, the role offers vast opportunities to develop problem solving skills on site and at base, alongside gaining knowledge and experience of working on high profile OB’s. It is expected that Vivid will have regular interactions with the University to support the student’s objectives throughout the placement.

Role Responsibilities: 

Under guidance from Vivid’s experienced team members, they will help to plan, test, prepare, maintain, support and operate our facilities.

At base, the role will also involve planning, prep, loading, maintenance and organising of equipment in the warehouse, including PAT testing. The role will encompass, but not limited to, the following areas of responsibilities:

  • Assist in the operation of Vivid’s OB and PPU systems

  • Set up and testing of systems

  • Prep and de-prep equipment for jobs

  • Be involved in the maintenance, update and servicing of kit

  • Assist within the operation of Vivid’s remote production centre

  • Attempt to find and repair technical faults, with minimum disruption to service

  • Be responsible for carrying various duties in the warehouse

  • Contribute ideas to improve internal systems, streamline kit movement and warehouse organisation

  • Send off kit for repair and servicing 

  • Arrange kit logistics 

  • Proactively support the growth of key areas of business including cinematic capture, specialist sport and remote production

On some projects, there may also be an opportunity to act as MSO which could include:

  • Media coordination, ingest and management

  • Set up small camera rigs for projects

  • Act as camera assistant on smaller OBs 

  • Vision mix on industry standard vision mixers including Grass Valley and FOR-A

  • Operate VT playback and graphics CG systems

  • Take briefs, manage projects and develop solutions autonomously

Digital Marketing Assistant

Role Overview: 

The Digital Marketing Assistant brings their proactive skills and creative energy to a varied and exciting role at Vivid, working across both the Studio and Outside Broadcast teams. This role is hands-on, has plenty of creative scope and involves a wide range of responsibilities. 

We are looking for someone who is digitally fluent across social media digital cultures, and has at least a base knowledge across the whole digital marketing world. They will create new content, schedule posts, track data, prepare reports, research new opportunities, and assist with strategy execution. 

They will join the Outside Broadcast teams onsite to film, edit and produce engaging reels to share with Vivid’s clients and followers on social media channels, as well as planning and co-ordinating other digital marketing. They will also be vital in supporting the Studio team with their workflows. 

Role Responsibilities: 

Some role responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy that promotes, engages our audience and drives business growth.

  • Create original content to be used across various platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook & TikTok to increase brand awareness, and drive business growth.

  • Social Media Management - Growing engagement, monitoring conversations, and building community.

  • Assisting with the planning, creating, and scheduling of email marketing campaigns to drive customer acquisition and retention.

  • Help in leading the development and implementation of brand strategy across all channels, ensuring brand consistency across all communication touchpoints.

  • Assist to design and oversee the production of branded items, such as brochures and newspapers, as well as managing contact lists.

You bring hands-on experience in filming and editing, ideally using Adobe Premiere Pro, and are confident in managing social platforms including Meta, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube. You stay up to date with digital marketing trends, tools, and AI integration, and are eager to contribute to the development of Vivid’s digital marketing strategy. You thrive in fast-paced environments, demonstrate sound judgement under pressure, and maintain professionalism and confidentiality when working with high-profile clients. Adaptable and solutions-focused, you contribute positively to the delivery of live productions.

Role Location:

Sound Guarantee
Full time - Permanent

If you are an experienced sound engineer looking for a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of interesting and high profile projects, then we would like to hear from you.

As Guarantee Sound Engineer you will be responsible for prepping, testing and supporting sound solutions, whether with our flypacks, OB trucks or remote gallery solutions. 

This full time position will involve working closely alongside the Broadcast Vision Guarantee, Unit Managers and Head of Engineering, from project inception and planning through to delivery. Technology is constantly changing within the broadcast industry, and we’re committed to staying fresh and innovative in the way we produce programmes and bring solutions - this role is a key part of us delivering on a daily basis.

Based from our facility in Mayford, Woking, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of all things sound within Vivid, whether on one of our trucks, flypacks or within the MCR.
 

Role Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Confidently interact with clients, directors and producers in the delivery of productions
  • Set up and maintenance of AV IP-networks including Dante systems
  • RTS Telex Comms system design, prep and operation
  • Sound operation and mixing for some OB’s and Flypack solutions

As well as guaranteeing, you will regularly operate and therefore should have a good understanding of audio best practices; sound mixing to broadcast standards for live broadcasts or recorded material.
 

About you

You must be eager to work on a range of new and exciting projects, using your knowledge and skills to develop innovative engineering solutions with consideration for the latest trends and technologies.

With significant experience in production, you will have a deep understanding of video and audio formats used for broadcast (SDI, Dante, AES, MADI etc) and principles of video and audio transmission as well as broadcast monitoring. You will fully understand workflow for intercom systems including IFBs and mix minuses.

A solid understanding of IP routing and switching and knowledge of Electrical Safety regulations, RTS Telex comms systems and Dante audio systems would be extremely advantageous.

Applicants should have demonstrable experience of audio engineering with knowledge of topics such as microphones, in-ear monitoring, mixing for broadcast, loudness measurements, comms and audio routing.

You must be confident working with clients under pressure.

A relevant engineering or audio degree (or equivalent) would be advantageous.

This is a full time role working 5 days out of every 7, based at Vivid offices and warehouse facilities near Woking/Guildford. Please note due to the nature of the business, this role involves shift work to cover weekends and late nights, sometimes at short notice, for which time off in lieu will be given.

Unit Manager

Due to continued growth we are looking for a highly experienced, full-time Sports-focused Outside Broadcast Unit Manager, confident in working with high-profile sports broadcasters and international federations, to join our team. This role will work across a wide variety of sports, as well as offer the opportunity to work Vivid’s non-sports OB’s, such as current affairs, fashion shows, theatre, and music.

A detailed planner and team player, you will have a thorough understanding of all the intricacies involved with remote production and OB’s using both Trucks and Flypacks through years of experience working as a Unit Manager.

About the role

This is a full-time role, working 5 days out of 7 and will include very regular weekend working. It is based at Vivid’s offices and warehouse facilities near Woking, when not working on location. 

Some responsibilities include:

  • Handling initial client enquiries and developing the technical needs of a project through the quoting process.

  • Developing great rapport with clients and being the main point of contact, responding to changing needs of the project, and being on hand to answer technical questions as they arise.

  • Carry out detailed site visits to assess best solutions for the production and client.

  • Thorough knowledge of health and safety to address all health and safety requirements.

  • Handle access, parking, connectivity, cabling routes and other considerations required to carry out the OB.

  • Liaise with the Heads of Departments, suppliers, and team as a whole to ensure the job is planned at base well in advance, ensure kit is prepared, and internal kit well utilised.

  • Unit Manage on site, managing all the operational needs of the job to ensure it runs smoothly as planned and to the clients satisfaction. Ensure staff, freelance crew and suppliers work effectively as a team on site and are looked after.

  • Drive multiple projects forward simultaneously, to ensure each one remains on track and within budget.

  • Experience with managing budgets.

  • The role will include opportunities for travel and supporting overseas projects.

This role can involve handling heavy equipment and working at heights.

A valid driving licence is required.

Vision Engineer
Full time - Permanent

We're looking for an experienced Outside Broadcast Vision Engineer, with a passion for the industry and a love of engineering, to join our fast-growing team.

This full-time position will play a key role supporting a wide range of projects, working alongside staff and freelance Vision Guarantees and ensuring high-quality, best-in-class productions.

Vivid operates a fleet of OB trucks, a remote production centre, dedicated remote units, and flypacks. We work with traditional camera channels and large sensor cinematic production workflows.

Role Responsibilities: 

You will work alongside Vision Guarantees, Head of Engineering, and Unit Managers, helping to provide the best solutions for clients, ensuring high quality broadcast output is maintained, and contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of our facilities. 

The role will encompass, but not limited to:

  • Plan and prep equipment for projects

  • Work as in the field engineer, supporting Vision Guarantees, and working alongside freelance engineers.

  • Setup and operate in-the-field infrastructure, diagnose and solve technical issues on site, communicating effectively with on site production personnel

  • Rack cameras working alongside a Vision Supervisor

  • Work within our Remote Production Centre (RPC), liaising with remote crews and supporting the studio and gallery operations.

  • Support and operate IP contribution and online delivery

  • Uphold production values through proactive engineering 

  • De-prep equipment and ensure logging of faults

  • Assist equipment planning and logistics 

  • Assist with the ongoing streamlining of kit movement and warehouse operations

  • Guarantee small remote vans and small flypack set ups

If interested, there will be the opportunity during employment to step up into guaranteeing roles.

We run a fleet of smaller crewed remote vans and Vivid will provide additional training for existing driving licence holders to obtain their Cat C1 Licence in order to drive 3.5 to 7.5 tonne vehicles.

About you 

We are looking for a driven engineer with strong communication skills. We value your ability to solve problems, be adaptable, and contribute confidently to delivering high-profile live productions.

This role is open to those with a relevant engineering degree or with proven related industry experience,  with a minimum of 3 years work within the UK outside broadcast scene.

You should have demonstrable experience of engineering, with knowledge of systems such as camera channels, switchers and routing control, and you’ll be encouraged to grow your expertise in cinematic cameras, HDR workflow, and IP contribution and delivery. 

Familiarity with Ross Ultrix, EVS, Grass Valley and Sony vision mixers, and RTS comms is an advantage. Ideally, you will have experience in, or looking to develop skills in leading and being responsible for teams or onsite crews.

The role

The role will be based on working 5 out of 7 days.

Largely due to following the football season, this role will include regular weekends and evening shifts and sometimes at short notice, for which you will receive time off in lieu. 

When not on site in locations throughout the UK, and occasionally overseas, you will be working from our Warehouse and Remote Production Facilities in Mayford, Woking. 

This role will involve handling and lifting as well as working at heights. 

Due to our location, having a valid driving licence is required.

This full-time position will play a key role in helping to ensure the success of each production, building a strong team working to deliver best in class productions. You will work with the Head of Engineering, Production and Unit Managers to understand and deliver the technical needs of our clients.

Vivid operates a fleet of OB trucks, a Remote Production Centre, dedicated remote units, and flypacks. We work with traditional camera channels and large sensor cinematic production workflows. This role will work across all projects with a special focus on supporting our new remote production centre.

Role Responsibilities: 

The role will encompass, but not limited to, the following areas of responsibilities:

  • Work as part of Vivid’s Remote Production Centre (RPC) operations, managing feeds, setting up galleries and supporting the production teams.

  • Guaranteeing OB trucks, remote production vehicles and flypacks across a wide range of projects.

  • Prep, set up, operate, test and check equipment both on site and remotely, communicating effectively with on-site production personnel.

  • Quickly find and repair technical faults, diagnose and solve technical issues as and when they arise with minimum disruption to service.

  • Support and operate IP contribution and online delivery.

  • De-prep equipment for jobs, maintenance, update and servicing of kit.

  • Work with internal systems to streamline kit movement and warehouse organisation.

  • Assist with kit logistics.

About you 

We are looking for an experienced UK based engineer, with a minimum of 5 years experience in the UK OB industry as an engineer and looking to step up into a guarantee position, or an already experienced vision guarantee. 

Experience of working in an MCR or remote production environment is an advantage. 

You should have demonstrable experience of engineering with knowledge of various systems, and you’ll be encouraged to grow your expertise in IP routing and switching, HDR workflow and IP contribution and delivery. 

Familiarity with Ross Ultrix, EVS, Grass Valley and Sony vision mixers, and RTS and Reidel comms.

The role

This is a full time role based at our current facilities in Mayford, Woking. The role will involve travel across the UK, and sometimes worldwide.

The role will be based on working 5 out of 7 days.

This role will include weekends and evening shifts, for which you will receive time off in lieu. We prioritise our crew having a good work-life balance.

Due to our location, a valid driving licence will be needed.
