We are on the hunt for a talented and experienced Vision Engineer to join our fast-growing team.
This role will be football focused, working as part of a dedicated team in our MCR to fulfil weekend fixtures with our OB Trucks, Flypacks and Remote Production solutions. As a Vision Engineer, you will use your experience and knowledge to help shape best practices and bring new, cutting-edge broadcast solutions to life, and deliver them with creativity and precision.
There will also be the opportunity to work on high profile non-sports events which include working on projects for leading fashion brands, theatre productions and iconic live music events with our cinematic Arri multi-cam solutions.

Role Responsibilities:
The role will include on site rigging and operation of all types of broadcast and IT equipment and back at base. There will be a requirement to plan, prep, loading, maintain and organise equipment in the MCR and Warehouse, including PAT testing.
The role will encompass, but not limited to, the following areas of responsibilities:

Carry out the prep of trucks and kit for OB’s inline, to meet with job specification.

Set up, operate, diagnose and solve technical issues in the MCR and on site, communicating effectively with on site production personnel

Proactively carry out work at our base, within our remote production gallery and MCR to ensure high quality standards are upheld and maintained

Support and operate IP contribution and online delivery

De-prep equipment and ensure logging of faults

Minimise loss of service through management of kit and providing workarounds

Be involved in the maintenance, update and servicing of kit including helping to improve internal systems to streamline kit movement and warehouse organisation.

Orchestrate kit logistics

Proactively research and assist in the development of new equipment and processes to support the growth of key areas of business including cinematic capture, specialist sport, and remote production.
Depending upon experience, there will be an opportunity to head up the small and dedicated team onsite at various football grounds throughout the UK. There is an opportunity to take an active role in driving OB Units to site. Vivid will provide additional training for existing driving licence holders to obtain their Cat C1 Licence in order to drive 3.5 to 7.5 tonne vehicles.
About you
We are looking for a driven engineer with strong communications skills, adept at working as part of a fast-paced, creative team.
So whether you’ve got a relevant engineering degree or you've built your knowledge through real-world OB experience, we value your ability to solve problems, be adaptable, and contribute confidently to delivering high-profile live productions.
You should have demonstrable experience of engineering with knowledge of systems such as cameras, switchers, routing and control and you’ll be encouraged to grow your expertise in IP routing and switching, cinematic cameras, 4K/HDR workflow and IP contribution and delivery.
Familiarity with Ross Ultrix, EVS, Grass Valley vision mixers and RTS comms is an advantage. Ideally, you will have experience in, or looking to develop skills in leading and being responsible for teams or onsite crews.
The role
The role will be based on working 5 out of 7 days.
Largely due to following the football season, this role will include regular weekends and evening shifts and sometimes at short notice, for which you will receive time off in lieu.
When not on site in locations throughout the UK, and occasionally overseas, you will be working from our Warehouse and Remote Production Facilities in Mayford, Woking.
This role will involve handling and lifting as well as working at heights. Due to our location, having a valid driving licence is preferential.
